Puerto Princesa boxers may pinatunayan

TAYABAS, Quezon, Philippines – Pinatunayan ng Puerto Princesa na sa kanila nagmumula ang mga amateur boxers ng bansa dahil sila ang may pinakamaraming finalists sa ginaganap na Smart-ABAP Northern-Southern Luzon Amateur boxing championships dito.

Sa semis bouts noong Sabado, sinimulan ni Cottonweight Rodel Dona ang pananalasa ng Puerto Princesa sa 10-6 panalo laban sa pinapaborang si Clifford Lacuesta ng Baguio City.

Ang kasamahan ni Dona na si Matthew Jagmis fueled Puerto Prin-cesa ay nagtala ng 2nd round Referee Stopped Contest-Outclassed (RSC-O) kay local bet Jessie Diaz.

Ginamit naman ng Tayabas ang hometown advantage para makapagpapasok sa 14 boxers sa Finals.

Si Tayabas-A fighter Jeffrey Cabanas ang nagtala ng impresibong panalo na 1st round RSC win kay Tayabas-B boxer John Carlos Dadios.

Ang iba pang lungsod at probinsiya na may apat na finalist o higit pa ay ang Bicol-A, Bicol-B and Baguio City while Tarlac City, Dagupan, Laguna, Nueva Vizcaya, La Union at Sorsogon sa event na sanctioned at supervised ng Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines (ABAP) sa pamumuno nina chairman Manny V. Pangilinan, president Ricky Vargas, Secretary-General Patrick Gregorio at Executive Director Ed Picson.

Ang lahat ng championship bouts ay ginanap kagabi sa Silungang Bayan of Tayabas kung saan si municipal mayor Dondi Silang at vice-mayor Brando Rea ang nagbigay ng equipments ng matagumpay na torneo.

Ang Smart-ABAP National championships ay gaganapin sa January 25-29 sa Puerto Princesa, Palawan.
