Gonzales pinaka-asintado sa youth shootfest

MANILA, Philippines - Bagamat nabigong pantayan ang preliminary score ng gold medalist sa Southeast Asian Games, inangkin pa rin ni Shanin Gonzales ng Tagaytay ang gintong medalya sa women’s air pistol ng 2nd Spring Cooking Oil national youth shooting championships sa 10-meter range sa Marine Barracks sa Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

Umabante sa finals ang 14-anyos na si Gonzales matapos maglista ng 377 puntos at kinumpleto ang final round sa bisa ng 475.3.

Tinalo ng estudyante ng Woodbridge College si Mica Padilla ng Asumption College (457.9) at si Ruth Ricardo ng Ateneo (449.3).

Si Padilla ay anak ni National Youth Development Program (NYDP) chairman Tac Padilla.

“Shanin is definitely one of our rising shooting stars,” wika nina Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) chairman Harry Angping at Philippine National Shooting Association (PNSA) head Art Macapagal.

Ang iba pang gold medalists sa kani-kanilang kategorya ay sina Simon Gonzales ng Tagaytay, Jayson Valdez ng Malate Catholic School, Dianne Nicole Eufemio ng Mirriam College at Venus Tan ng University of Manila,Joshua Dominique , Jethro Palma, Dervi n Tan/Shanin Gonzales at Jayson Valdez/Jean Alexis Go.
