Diaz ipapahinga muna ni Arum

Matapos mahubaran ni Filipino boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao ng kanyang world lightweight belt noong Hunyo 28, muling maghihintay ng laban si Me­xican-American David Diaz.

“Rest up and wait. I’m going to soak in some warm water, and get ready. I’m kind of a homebody, you know,” wika ng 32-anyos na si Diaz.

Sa bisa ng isang ninth-round TKO ni Pacquiao, na­wala sa ulo ni Diaz ang kanyang dating suot na World Boxing Council (WBC) lightweight crown.

Sinabi ni Bob Arum ng Top Rank Promotions na ipa­pahinga muna niya ang isip at ang katawan ng da­ting Olympic Games campaigner bago ikuha ng bagong laban.

Handa naman si Diaz, umiskor ng isang unani­mous decision kay dating world three-division titlist Erik Morales noong Agosto ng 2007, sa sinumang ita­tapat sa kanya ni Arum.

Kabilang na sa mga lightweight fighters na naka­takdang lumaban ngayong taon  ay sina Joel Ca­samayor, Juan Manuel Marquez, Nate Campbell at Juan Diaz.
