GMA bilib pa rin kay Boom-Boom

Sa kabila ng pagkatalo sa Mexican opponent na si Daniel Ponce de Leon, ipinaabot pa rin ni Pangulong Arroyo ang kanyang lubos na tiwala sa kakayahan ng Pinoy boxer na si Rey “Boom-Boom” Bautista.

“Boom-Boom’s loss is  a temporary setback, one temporary setback, one that will rise from with greater strength and determination. We value our champions as symbols of Filipino excellence and persistence.

They serve as role models,” dagdag pa ni Mrs. Arroyo.

Binati ni Pangulong Ar-royo ang mga boksingero matapos nilang mapag-wagian ang kanilang mga laban kahapon. 

“I join the Filipino nation in giving our congratulations to our boxing champs for their victory over Mexico. Gerry Peñalosa has shown remarkable courage and skill in winning his title,” wika pa ng Pangulo.

Nakuha ni Gerry Peñalosa ang World Boxing Organization bantamweight champion belt matapos niyang talunin sa pamamagitan ng knockout sa 7th round ang kanyang Mexican opponent na si Jhonny Gonzales.

Apat pang Pinoy boxers ang nagwagi at tanging si Boom-Boom ang natalo sa kanilang laban sa Mexican boxers na ginanap sa Arco Arena sa Sacramento, California, USA. (Rudy Andal)
