National swimmers ‘di pa puwedeng magpunta sa Trace College

Hanggang hindi pa nakukumpleto ang Trace College ay hindi pa magdadala ng mga national swimmers ang Philippine Amateur Swimming Association (PASA) sa naturang venue sa Los Baños, Laguna.

Sinabi ni PASA president Mark Joseph na hindi pa napupuno ang swimming pool ng Trace College na siyang pagdarausan ng swimming event ng darating na 23rd Southeast Asian Games sa Nobyembre.

"We want to make sure that the pool is ready for them. Right now, may napuno na pool pero we still have to make sure na ready na talaga for the training of our swimmers," wika ni Joseph.

Isang training camp sa nasabing venue ang isasagawa ng PASA para sa 17 male at 11 female swimmers na maghahanda para sa 2005 SEA Games, nakatakda sa Nobyembre 27 hanggang Disyembre 5.

Kabilang sa mga ito ay sina Olympians Miguel Molina, Miguel Mendoza, Liza Danila, Jenny Guerrero, Jacklyn Pangilinan at James Bernard Walsh.

"Once we bring them there we don’t want their training to be disrupted by some repairs because once we move out of ULTRA (Pasig City) then we already loose our dormitories," ani Joseph. "We will only move if everything is ready."

Sa nakaraang SEA Games sa Vietnam noong 2003, apat na ginto ang naiuwi ng PASA, dalawa rito ay mula kina Molina at Mendoza.

Inaasahang uuwi sa bansa ang mga Fil-Americans na sina Molina, Mendoza, Pangilinan at Walsh sa Nobyembre 22. (Russell Cadayona)
