4 na Fil-Am swimmers lalangoy sa SEA Games

Hanggang apat na Fil-Americans lamang para sa Philippine swimming team.

Ito ang opinion ni national swimmer Liza Danila kaugnay sa pagkuha ng Philippine Amateur Swimming Asso-ciation (PASA) ng mga Fil-Ams para sa national squad na ilalaban sa darating na 23rd Southeast Asian Games sa Nobyembre.

"Sa akin, sana kung ‘yung apat na Fil-Ams na lang tama na," sabi ng 23-anyos na si Danila tungkol kina Fil-Ams Miguel Mendoza, Miguel Molina, Jacklyn Pangilinan at James Bernard Walsh.

Sina Mendoza, Molina, Pangilinan at Walsh ay ipina-sok na ng PASA sa national team para sa 2005 SEA Games.

"Siguro naman it’s about time to give us importance and to give us a chance to show what we can do," ani Danila, nag-uwi ng dalawang silver medal sa 2003 SEA Games sa Vietnam. "There are so many younger Filipino swimmers that have a lot of potentials."

Sina Mendoza at Molina ang umangkin sa gintong medalya sa men’s 1,500-meter freestyle at 200-meter freestyle event, ayon sa pagkakasunod, sa 2003 Vietnam SEA Games.

Bukod kina Mendoza at Molina, nakita rin sa aksyon sa 2004 Olympic Games sa Athens, Greece sina Pangili-nan at Walsh.

Sa paglangoy nina Men-doza, Molina, Pangilinan at Walsh, kumpiyansa ang PASA na apat hanggang anim na gintong medalya ang kaya nilang maibulsa para sa 2005 SEA Games. (R. Cadayona)
