Ramirez hahalili kay FG sa Chef de Mission meeting

Kung hindi agad makakabalik sa bansa si First Gentleman Mike Arroyo, si Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) chairman William Ramirez ang kakatawan ng bansa sa Chef de Mission meeting ng 23rd Southeast Asian Games.

Si Ramirez, co-Chef de Mission ni First Gentleman na ‘god-father’ ng local sports at siyang nangangasiwa sa mga kailangan ng mga Filipino athletes habang nasa U.S. si Mr. Arroyo.

Sina PSC chief at officials ng Philippine SEA Games Organizing Committee (PHILSOC) sa pamumuno ng chief executive officer na si Jose Cojuangco Jr. ang inaasahang dumalo sa Sept. 30 meeting, ang huling malaking pagpupulong ng mga opisyal ng 11 participating countries bago ang Nov. 27-Dec. 5 biennial meet.

Tatagal ng isang linggo ang meeting na gagastusan ng bansa ng P500,000 hanggang P1 milyon ngunit sinabi ni PHILSOC secretary-general Steve Hontiveros na sisikapin nilang makatipid.

"Normally, two to four days lang ang meeting. Kaya lang kailangan natin silang dalhin sa Cebu at Bacolod kaya mas matagal ngayon at medyo malaki ang gastos," ani Hontiveros.

Bahagi ng Chef de Mission agenda ay ang occular inspection ng iba’t ibang venues para sa 41 sports disciplines sa Metro Manila, Cebu at Bacolod.
