49 Pinoy trackster sali sa AGP Manila Leg

Aabot sa 49 Filipino athletes ang hinugot ng Philippine Amateur Track and Field Association upang makapagreserba ng slots para sa pag-asang makapag-uwi ng cash at mabigyan ng oportunidad sa pagdaraos ng ikaapat at huling yugto ng Asian Grand Prix sa Manila na inorganisa ng Asian Athletics Association sa Lunes sa makasaysayang Rizal Memorial track oval.

Kabilang sa kakampanya sa bansa sina 2001 SEA Games gold medalist Ernie Candelario sa 400m, John Lozada (800m), long jumper Joebert Delicano at javelin thrower Dandy Gallenero.

Dahil sa pagkakasibak ng organizers sa kanyang pabori-tong middle distance events, hindi makalalahok si Eduardo ‘Vertek’ Buenavista, ang 3,000-m steeplechase at 5,000m gold winner sa Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Ayon sa host athletic chief na si Go Teng Kok, optimistiko siya na magiging maganda ang performance ngayon nina long jumpers Lerma Bulauitan-Gabito at Maristella Torres da-hil na rin sa suportang ibibigay ng homecrowd.

Labing-limang events ang paglalabanan sa men’s division at pito naman sa women’s side.
