Badminton sa Pilipinas palalakasin

Tutulungan ng International Management Group, ang nangungunang sports promotion at marketing firm sa buong mundo, ang Philippine Badminton Association na mapaunlad at mapasikat ang naturang sports sa bansa sa pamamagitan ng kanilang ekstensibong skills at expertise.

"We believe in the potential of baminton in your country so we will be helping the PBA in the next three years so that the sport can grow and become popular among Filipinos," pahayag ni James White, IMG director para sa badminton sa Asya nang maging panauhin ito kahapon sa PSA Forum sa Holiday Inn.

Sinabi ni White na siyang nangangasiwa sa pagpro-promote ng badminton sa Asya na batay sa built at talent ng mga atletang Pinoy, walang dahilan para hindi maging mahusay tulad ng mga Indonesians na ngayon ay isa sa pinakamahusay sa buong mundo.

"With the help of JVC and the IMG, we hope that we can start the ball rolling here for the next three years by also conducting provincial tournament then the PBA can take over from there," dagdag ni White.

Ang IMG at JVC ang tumulong sa pagdaraos ng JVC Asian Badminton championships na magbubukas ngayon sa PhilSports Arena sa Pasig.

"Hopefully by the time our partnership with the PBA is through, besides boxing, basketball and billiards you will add another "B" to our list of popular sports which is badminton," ani White.
