Hindi ‘overkill’ ang ikakalat na 15,000 PNP sa Sept. 21!
HINDI overkill ang pagdeploy ng 15,000 tropa ng kapulisan sa September 21 dahil nais lang ng pamunuan ni NCRPO chief Brig. Gen. Christopher Abrahano na magiging tahimik at mapayapa ang mga protest rallies sa paggunita ng martial law. “Our singular focus for September 21 is to keep the entire metropolis safe, orderly, and fully functioning,” ayon kay Abrahano. “Every officer on the ground is instructed to respect human rights, strictly adhere to Police Operational Procedures, and exercise maximum tolerance at all times,” ang dagdag pa ni Abrahano. Sa kabuuan, 9,000 sa mga pulis na i-deploy sa September 21 ay galing sa NCRPO, samantalang ang 6,000 na augmentation forces ay galing naman sa tropa nina PRO4-A director Brig. Gen. Dominic Baccay at PRO3 director Brig. Gen. Jess Mendez. Mismooooo!
“Security is not meant to stifle expression, but to protect it.,” ang pahayag ni Abrahano. “We appeal to all participants and the public to cooperate with authorities, respect the rule of law, and ensure that peaceful assemblies remain peaceful so that everyone gets to return home safely to their families,” ang dagdag pa ni NCRPO director. “The NCRPO’s sweeping deployment drives toward a single, definitive outcome: a secure, orderly commemoration where public safety is upheld, property is preserved, and the constitutional right to peaceful expression is fully respected,” ang giit pa ni Abrahano. Hehehe! Kelangan pa bang i-memorize ‘yan?
Sinabi naman ng Bayan na overkill na ang sobrang dami ng pulis na i-deploy sa kalye sa September 21 subalit ipinaliwanag ni PNP spokesperson Col. Allen Rae Co na ang focus ng kapulisan ay upang siguraduhin ang kaligtasan ng komunidad general public. “Ang primordial na task natin is to ensure the safety of the general public. Hindi bale na medyo na sumobra na sinasabi nila pero ma-ensure naman natin na ang general public will not be endangered ang will not be inconvenienced,” ani Co. Tumpak!
Sinabi ni Co na ang NCRPO ay ilalatag sa full alert status umpisa 12 midnight ng Sabado kahit wala pang threat groups na namonitor ang kapulisan. Aniya, mahigpit ang bilin ni PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio “Tateng’ Nartatez Jr. sa mga pulis na ‘wag magdala ng kanilang baril. “Ang ating body-worn cameras will be used for the said security operations,” ayon kay Co, sabay sabing mahigpit ang tagubilin ni Nartatez sa mga pulis to exercise maximum tolerance.
