MANILA, Philippines — To ensure sustained supply of relief goods, the Department of Social Welfare and Development is calling for volunteers to help repack food packs at the DSWD resource centers in Pasay and Mandaue City in Cebu.

DSWD National Resource and Logistics Management Bureau (NRLMB) director Jun Eso said volunteers are welcome to help from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays until Saturdays.

“If you have time to volunteer, our production hubs are open,” Eso said.

The DSWD said it has distributed millions of food packs to communities affected by the effects of the southwest monsoon as well as tropical cyclones Luis, Maymay and Neneng.

To ensure organized shifts, Eso advised volunteers or groups to coordinate with the NRLMB prior to visiting the facilities.

He said while walk-ins are accepted, pre-registration is advised so schedules can be managed effectively.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. Those below 18 are required to be accompanied by a guardian due to the active operation of heavy-duty machinery inside the warehouses.

The volunteers are also encouraged to wear appropriate clothing, particularly closed shoes, to prevent workplace accidents.
