Classes in Metro suspended
MANILA, Philippines — Classes in Metro Manila were suspended yesterday amid strong monsoon rains.
Schools in Caloocan, Las Piñas, Malabon, Mandaluyong, Manila, Marikina, Navotas, Pasay, Quezon City, San Juan and Valenzuela shifted to alternative delivery modes.
Some students waded through floods in Manila since the announcement was made at past 7 a.m.
Public school classes usually start at 6 a.m.
Heavy monsoon rains flooded streets in Metro Manila, prompting local governments to suspend classes.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, Metro Manila and the provinces of Bataan, Bulacan and Zambales were under an orange rainfall warning.
Tomorrow’s weather forecast predicts possible floods and landslides in parts of Luzon.
Metro Manila may experience floods on Friday.
