Manhunt for Bato ‘relentless,’ says PNP

MANILA, Philippines — Police are determined to arrest Sen. Ronald dela Rosa amid reported “negotiations” by the state with “powerful” people coddling the fugitive senator.
“Our efforts are ongoing and relentless. We will not deviate and we will not be disrupted from doing our duty,” Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesman Col. Allen Rae Co said yesterday.
Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla on Tuesday said they know Dela Rosa’s hiding place, noting that “very powerful people” are protecting the senator.
Dela Rosa is wanted by the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity.
The PNP has started recovering 91 firearms, registered under the senator’s name, that remain unaccounted for.
Dela Rosa has 117 firearms, 20 of which were surrendered by his camp in Davao City and six in Calabarzon.
