Albert Tiu and Marcel Luxen to perform and hold master classes in Manila

MANILA, Philippines - Internationally acclaimed pianist Albert Tiu and clarinetist Marcel Luxen will open MCO Foundation’s Great Performances Series on June 1 at 7 p.m. at the Ayala Museum, Makati City.

Considered as one of the finest Filipino pianists of his generation, Tiu has performed as soloist with St. Petersburg Philharmonic, Baden-Baden Philharmonic, Calgary Philharmonic, Winnipeg Symphony, and Finnish Radio Symphony, to name a few. Belgian clarinetist Luxen has performed extensively throughout Europe and in Asia, Australia and the US. He has won prizes in national and international competitions and played in some of the world’s most prestigious concert halls.

Together, they will perform sonatas of Brahms, Schumann’s Fantasie Stucke and Weber’s Duo Concertante.

Tiu will hold a special master class on June 2 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, and Luxen from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., both at the Ayala Museum. The master classes will be open to the public, free of charge.
