“I’m just so happy with my role that coach [Topex Robinson] gave me,” ani Phillips, na tumikada ng double-double na 14 points at 10 rebounds nang talunin nila ang UP, 77-66 sa first round.

“I just try to be one of the leaders on the defense and the energy, and a lot of times I still struggle with my offensive end, and sometimes too much energy, and it’s not channeled the right way, but that’s why I trust in my teammates.” ani Phillips.

Nasa pangalawang puwesto ang last year’s runner-up Fighting Maroons, tangan ang 9-3 record, pangatlo ang Red Warriors na hawak ang 6-6 baraha habang pang-apat ang University of Sto. Tomas na bitbit ang 6-7 karta.
