The original top-sider, Sperry Top-Sider, opened its Bonifacio High Street branch at B2 in Bonifacio Global City. To mark the opening, a ceremonial untying of nautical rope was done by actor, model and avid Sperry fan Daniel Matsunaga, Ayala Malls division manager Joseph Reyes and Sperry Top-Sider retail operations division manager Karen Ong.
Guests were given a preview of the shoe collection, which included the brand’s newly launched exclusive collaborations with Milly and Band of Outsiders.
The Milly by Michelle Smith is a sophisticated luxury brand founded in 2001. Known for its timeless silhouettes with smart, sexy, feminine flair, Milly is followed by Gwyneth Paltrow, Victoria Beckham, Beyoncé and Thandie Newton.
The Milly for Sperry Top-Sider includes prints like an Italian vintage rose garden and comes in rich, vibrant colors such as coral and navy. The collection also features sandals, sneakers and ankle-wrap wedges embellished with signature design details from the Milly handbag collection such as ropes, gold metallic laces and charms.
Band of Outsiders was established in January 2004 by designer Scott Sternberg. It is known for its ever-growing archive of classic American sportswear re-examined and re-constructed for now. Fans of the brand include Kirsten Dunst and Jason Schwartzman.
The shoe brand’s collection features a variety of classic boat-shoe styles made with a variety of materials. Boat-shoe styles were designed in pink, blue, green, orange and taupe. Prints in the collection include a nautical navy and red printed canvas stripe. My personal favorite is a pair of tri-tone denim shoes.
The Sperry Top-Sider Authentic Original boat shoe has emerged as an icon of classic American style. The brand now offers new looks by introducing trendy silhouettes and materials such as oxfords, loafers, flats and wedges.
