All the stars were aligned that night when Omega launched its Constellation Luxury Edition during the Thirty Twenty Ten invitational gala of fashion icon Inno Sotto at the Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo of the Cultural Center of the Philippines. The event, which celebrated Inno’s 30 years of unrivaled success in fashion in the year 2010, had all the dazzling stars in attendance.
The show was captivating, especially so when it featured a ready-to-wear line called “Muse.” The collection was all about contemporary and luxurious pieces in silk, chiffon and satin. Inspirations from India and East China were present in the creation of the collection.
Perfectly complementing the designs were pieces from Omega’s Constellation Luxury Edition, which the models wore when they walked on stage. The Constellation was created with a strong and vivid visual identity — the dials display a dramatic supernova structure, which emanates boldly from the Constellation star at 6 o’clock. Each watch glitters with round diamonds whose seemingly random distribution conjures a “snow setting.”
Guests got the chance to see and appreciate the luxurious timepieces as these were showcased at the exhibit. Emerson Yao, managing director of Lucerne, the exclusive distributor of Omega watches in the Philippines, the brand’s GM Edith Dychiao and marketing manager Beth Mancilla welcomed guests to the booth and explained what they needed to know about the much-coveted timepieces.
The 162-year-old Omega and Inno Sotto created a mesmerizing constellation of luxury and fashion.
Silver bells before Christmas
The warmth of love merrily mixed with the Tagaytay cool air when Ed and Joanne Ramirez recently exchanged “I do’s” the second time around at the Veranda of the Splendido Golf Club in Tagaytay. The couple renewed their vows during an outdoor afternoon Mass celebrated by Fr. Jerry Orbos, SVD, and witnessed by family and close friends as Rachelle Gerodias and Erwin Lacsa lent their heavenly voices to the solemn celebration.
Ed, who was dapper in a black and gray suit, walked down the aisle with his wife Joanne, who was stunning in a Cary Santiago gown. Close friend and overall wedding coordinator Eric Pe Benito pulled all stops to make the day even more meaningful for the couple. After sunset, a short and festive fireworks display by Dragon lit up the skies above Taal Lake, which seemed just a stone’s throw away from the reception at Splendido’s Ladera Lounge. Floral architect Rachy Cuna beautifully decorated the venue with silver glazed orchids and each of the tables at the reception had an original sculpture by him, which were given away as souvenirs, along with chocolates from Villa del Conte and pastries from Luxe of Goldilocks. A three-tiered silver and black fondant cake with a banana walnut base by Penk Ching of Pastry Bin was a feast to the eyes and to the tastebuds. Guests enjoyed a scrumptious buffet spread supervised by Splendido chef Tristan Bayani complemented by selected Pepi Sangiovese 2003 and Pepi Pinot Grigio from Titania Wines. Son Chino led the toast for the silver couple with Moet and Chandon champagne. After the short program hosted by Johnny Litton was dancing to ‘80s music provided by the SAIA Band.
Present to wish Ed and Joanne more years of wedded bliss were their parents, Carlos and Garding Ramirez and Sonia Mayor, Ed’s siblings Peewee Lareza and husband Luis, Edith Ramirez and Elizabeth Rodriguez, and Joanne’s youngest sister Valerie Sotto and husband Ping and aunts Nellie Mayor Loleng, Coney Mayor Tamayo and uncle former Oriental Mindoro Vice Gov. Pedrito Reyes. Also present to share their joy were Sen. Ed Angara (one of the couple’s original principal sponsors) and his wife Gloria and Speaker Sonny Belmonte, who represented the couple’s ninang, the late Betty Go-Belmonte. Also toasting to the couple’s wonderful marital journey were Vice President Jojo Binay and wife Elenita, Sen. Loren Legarda, Taguig Rep. Freddie Tinga and wife Kaye, Makati Mayor Junjun Binay, STAR president Miguel Belmonte and wife Milette, People Asia publisher Babe Romualdez, Rose Anne Belmonte, People Asia chairman Choy and Marisa Cojuangco, Ambassador Precious Soliven and daughter Sara de Guzman, among other well-wishers.
Congratulations!
