WATCH: Illegal logging areas in Philippines down 90%, APEC told

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines has been making great strides in combating illegal logging, with more than 1 million hectares of affected areas reforested in the past four years, a state environmentalist said.

Demetrio Ignacio Jr., undersecretary for the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, presented some of the achievements and challenges of the country at the APEC Experts Group on Illegal Logging and Associated Trade in Cebu City on Saturday.
