On the proclamation of Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III,
On behalf of the officers and members of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino - Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban), I congratulate Atty. Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III, president of PDP-Laban, on the historic occasion of his proclamation as the legitimate, duly elected Senator of the Republic of the Philippines.
The significance of his proclamation is matched only by his determination to prove that electoral fraud was committed during the 2007 elections and his unparalleled courage to fight for those who voted for him.
We are confident that guided by the principles of PDP Laban — the belief in God, human dignity, enlightened nationalism, participatory and consultative democracy and the equality of all — Senator Koko will serve our country well and will make PDP-Laban proud of its President.
We, at PDP Laban, joined Atty. Koko in his noble quest to expose election irregularities because of our belief that in a democracy, the will of the people is supreme.
Today, we join him in celebrating this momentous occasion and offer him our help as he set out to fight for our oppressed and marginalized countrymen and work for the progress of our country.
We call upon our countrymen to support Senator Koko in his cause to institute genuine democratic reforms. We call upon all concerned to remain vigilant and pursue, towards its just end, the prosecution of those who deprived our people of their democratic right to choose.
