SM turns over 2 schoolbuildings in GenSan

MANILA, Philippines - The SM Group of Companies through SM Foundation turned over two schoolbuildings in General Santos as provided for in a previous memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the Department of Education.

One of the schoolbuildings turned over benefited the General Santos City Special Education Integrated School. It is a one-story, two-classroom building constructed in partnership with project partner SM Prime Holdings, Inc. It is the 40th schoolbuilding donated by SM to the government educational system. The schoolbuilding is provided with teacher’s tables and chairs, students’ desks, blackboards and toilet facilities. Also turned over were textbooks and reading, materials for the students and school library.

Another schoolbuilding goes to Banisil National High School located barely eight kilometers from the heart of General Santos City. The schoolbuilding handed over by SM is one-story, four-classroom edifice and just like other schoolhouses from SM is complete with desks, blackboards, tables, chairs and toilet facilities. Banisil National High School is a former annex school of General Santos City High School that started with only 98 first year students who were temporarily housed at the multi-purpose building of Barangay Tambler. Project partners for this schoolbuilding are SM Prime Holdings and BDO Foundation.
