BDO Foundation and SM Foundation to construct school bldg in GenSan

MANILA, Philippines -  Students in General Santos City will have a new one-story four-classroom school building courtesy of BDO Foundation, Inc. and SM Foundation. The P2.2-million school building will benefit enrollees of Banisil National High School in Barangay Tambler. The building will be provided with toilets, armchairs, teacher’s table and chair, wall fans, blackboards and a signage.

BDO through BDO Foundation and SM Prime Holdings through SM Foundation, entered into an agreement with the Department of Education for the construction of a one-story four-classroom school building to address shortage in public education. Funds from this project we  re generated from the “Share Gift Check Project”, a donation gift check product available in all BDO branches nationwide which interested donors can purchase. Recipient of this donation gift check can choose any three advocacies: shelter, healthcare and education.

BDO Foundation’s member of the board of trustees and BDO Unibank vice chairperson Corazon de la Paz-Bernardo; BDO Foundation’s member of the board of trustees and BDO Unibank adviser to the board of directors Jesus Tirona and BDO Foundation president and member of the board of trustees Maureen Abelardo were present during the MOA signing.

This is part of the “Adopt-a-School” program of the Department of Education.
