MyPhone to donate 1 schoolhouse a month for 5 years after initial 3 on World Teacher's Day

MANILA, Philippines - DepEd celebrated the inaugural World Teacher’s Day celebration last Oct. 5, at the ULTRA (formerly Philsports) in Pasig with a crowd of more than 10,000 teachers, public officials, businessmen and celebrities arrived to celebrate and give respect to the teachers of the country. Celebrities Anne Curtis, Sam Milby, Sam Concepcion, Nnoy Vollante, Mike Chan, xLR8 and many more serenaded the teachers the whole morning.

Vice President Jejomar Binay was the keynote speaker during the event and reiterated the government’s support for education.

Highlight of the show was the awarding of the school houses by My|Phone through its advocacy program My|House, My|School Teacher, My|Hero!   

Richie de Quina, vice president for marketing and business development, My|Phone, through its advocacy program has committed to donate one school house per month for the next five years. A project that will utilize its affiliate company My|House (www.my house.net.ph). 

Solid Group of Companies chairman Elena Lim along with Education Secretary Armin Luistro awarded three school houses to Hillario Delabajan (Region XIII Basilio B. Chan Memorial School), Narcisa Villarente (Region XI Agcawayan Elementary School), Hurley M. Cordero (Region XII Lorena Central School).
