MANILA, Philippines - The Commission on Higher Education (CHED), by virtue of Resolution R013–2009 dated Oct. 06, 2009, has granted the autonomous status to Lyceum of the Philippines University in Batangas.
Fresh from achieving the ISO 9001:2008 certification (after being ISO 9001:2000 certified) from Det Norske Veritas, and the Level III status from the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA) for its Liberal Arts & Nursing programs, LPU Batangas now enjoys this highest and most prestigious recognition that CHED gives to an educational institution. This autonomous status, which is higher than a deregulation status, is a recognition of the quality of education that LPU Batangas provides as a result of its strong accreditation thrust alongside its in-place international quality assurance system.
LPU Batangas now has a significant measure of autonomy and freedom to offer new programs, innovate its curricula, open new campuses and give a competitive advantage to pioneer and innovate.
LPU Batangas now shares the high standing with other autonomous universities like Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University (Taft), and University of Santo Tomas among others.
