ePLDT Ventus helps teachers gain English proficiency
MANILA, Philippines – ePLDT Ventus recently held an all-expense paid three-day English proficiency training-workshop for teachers, sponsored by PLDT-Smart Foundation (PSF), as part of its commitment to help them gain valuable communication skills.
The workshop, which was attended by 25 elementary and secondary public school teachers from Metro Manila and nearby provinces, provided specialized training modules, activities and exercises developed by ePLDT Ventus for Gabay Guro (2G) teachers.
ePLDT Ventus president Helen Marquez said the workshop was intended to equip teachers with the right tools and training materials to further strengthen the English communication skills of their students and help prepare them for the global economy.
Since the program’s inception in 2007, over 100 teachers from different parts of the country from both public and private schools have benefited from the program, whose facilitators came from Ventus’ pool of world-class professionals.
2G is a project of PSF in partnership with the PLDT Managers Club, Inc. (MCI). It aims to reach out to public school teachers and help them become effective English communicators. 2G is also involved in sending scholars taking up education courses around the country.
