Education law seminar

-

The Center for Global Best Practices is holding a seminar entitled “Legal and Labor Issues in Education Law: Cases, Updates and Solutions” on Feb. 5 and 6, 2009 at the Peninsula Manila, Makati City.

Education law has intricacies that are not found in the practice of corporate law.

This MCLE-accredited seminar will be divided into two parts. The first part will cover legal issues facing schools and universities, notably, how schools can comply with existing government regulations to avoid liabilities; way to align school policies to education laws. Additionally, participants will learn the important legal issues governing tuition fees, opening of branches and extension classes, student legal issues on admission and discipline, campus security and safety, and special laws governing educational institutions.

The second part will address labor issues specific to the education sector.

The featured speaker is Atty. Ulpiano Sarmiento III, one of the very few recognized authorities in education law. He is author of the book, “Education Law and the Private Schools,” the most comprehensive book written on the subject matter.

School owners, administrators, officials, and legal practitioners would definitely learn and benefit from this pioneering seminar. This seminar is strictly limited-seats-only and pre-registration is required. For more details and registration, log on to www.cgbp.org. You may also call 8427148/59 or email [email protected]
