SMC, UST Journalism Society hold Journ Talk Series

The University of Santo Tomas journalism progrm and San Miguel Corp. will hold a forum on specialized journalism on Nov. 6 inside the pontifical university.

The SMC-UST Journalism Society Journ Talk Series, themed "Specialized Journalism in the Digital Age," will feature resource persons who are veteran journalists.

Philippine Star business editor Roman Floresca, Philippine Daily Inquirer asst. sports editor Francis Ochoa, and Sense & Style Magazine editor Arnel Patawarn will give talks on business, sports and lifestyle journalism, respectively. National Union of Journalists in the Philippines (NUJP) Vice President J. Alwyn Alburo will also give an overview on how to conduct quality specialized journalism.

Over-100 graduating journalism students from UST, Colegio San Juan de Letran-Manila, Lyceum of the Philippines University-Manila, and University of the East will attend the seminar, an annual event being organized by SMC.

UST is a center of development in journalism education, accorded to it by the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) last June.
