How ‘Vibe’ changed jocks’ careers in 1 year

“Vibe+,” TV5’s exhilarating and energetic musical variety show, has built its identity around showcasing Original Pilipino Music (OPM). While the show initially focused on OPM, it has recently expanded its musical repertoire to include international hits as well. Giving “Vibe+” an edge over other musical programs are its fun, hip and multi-talented “Vibe+” jocks — Dylan Menor, Ryle Santiago, Joao Constancia, Carmela Lorzano, Ana Ramsey, Queenay and, most recently, Gigi De Lana. The show is directed by no less than Johnny Manahan.
As “Vibe+” celebrates its first anniversary this month — the show’s very first episode aired on Aug. 11, 2025 — it has lined up a series of special guests and production numbers to mark the milestone. This month alone, the program has welcomed Andrew E., Maymay Entrata, Angeline Quinto, Ogie Alcasid and Rivermaya. Next Saturday, Gary Valenciano will join the celebration as a special guest.
I recently sat down with the “Vibe+” jocks and asked them how they feel about the show’s first anniversary.
How do you feel about ‘Vibe+’ turning one?
Dylan Menor: “I feel so happy and grateful na one year old na ang ‘Vibe+.’ I’m just really excited to see how it continues to grow and get better. Ever since we started, I’ve always loved the concept of showcasing OPM (Original Pilipino Music) — from upcoming artists, well-known artists, hanggang sa mga OG’s. Sobrang saya ko rin na mas marami pang nakakanood, nakaka-appreciate, and nakakakilala sa talent ng Filipino artists through the show.
“And of course, I’d really love to encourage everyone who loves or is into music, arts, concerts and performances to experience ‘Vibe+’ live and appreciate the whole concept of ‘Vibe+’ even more.”
Ryle Santiago: “Amazed. New concepts are always a gamble, and I’m very happy that ‘Vibe+’ is alive and thriving.”
Joao Constancia: “I feel happy and grateful to our kapatids and TV5 that we have reached one year with Vibe+!”
Carmela Lorzano: “I’m so happy and proud of what ‘Vibe+’ has become. Nakakatuwa po kasi parang last year lang nagsimula pa lang ang ‘Vibe+.’ I still remember the first time it was launched, and now one year na pala kami! Sobrang bilis ng panahon. I’m always grateful to be part of ‘Vibe+,’ and I hope we’ll have many more years together.”
Ana Ramsey: “Grabe, nakakatuwa at nakaka-proud na ‘Vibe+’ is one year old. Parang from day one, ramdam na may solid na support from viewers and from the team. Thank you, kasi kahit isang taon pa lang, sobrang dami na rin nating napuntahan — stories, collabs at moments na talagang nag-stay sa puso.”
Queenay: “Super happy and grateful ako na naka-one year na ang ‘Vibe+.’ For me, isa talaga ito sa nagbukas ng maraming opportunities sa career ko. Ang dami kong natutunan and na-experience because of this show. Kaya malaking honor for me na hanggang ngayon, part pa rin ako ng ‘Vibe+.’ Mas naging meaningful siya kasi nasaksihan ko yung growth nito from the start.”
Gigi De Lana: “I wasn’t actually part of ‘Vibe+’ from the beginning, so I didn’t get to experience the entire first year. But I’m beyond proud to see how far ‘Vibe+’ has come and now to be part of its journey. One year is such a milestone, and I’m really grateful to be part of something that continues to make people happy and bring people together. I’m excited to see what’s ahead for ‘Vibe+’ and hopefully be part of many years to come.”
What is your dream production number?
Dylan: “Siguro isa sa mga dream ko would be to perform with some of my OPM idols like Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera, Rico Blanco or Arthur Nery. Kahit isa lang sa kanila, sobrang dream come true na for me. It would be such an amazing experience to share the stage with artists na naging inspiration ko rin growing up, and hopefully, one day, mangyari yun.”
Ryle: “Production number with IV of Spades, BINI, Hashtags and Rivermaya.”
Joao: “Mine is to rap or dance to Pauwi Na Ako with the original artists.”
Carmela: “Sarah G. medley prod! Si Sarah G. po talaga ang idol ko when it comes to performing. I would love to watch her perform on ‘Vibe+’ and I’d also love to perform her songs someday sa show!”
Ana: “Yes! Dream ko ma-perform yung mga original songs na ginagawa ko. With a full production number na full of energy and storytelling, yung may theme, powerful and powerhouse songs at may moment na sobrang wow kahit sa details.
“If I have to pick, something na parang ‘big cinematic performance’ — yung tipong mapapa-second watch ka talaga. Yung concert-level ang feels.”
Queenay: “I’d love a production number focused on dancing with beautiful and powerful choreography. Since I’m still improving my vocals, I want to highlight my performance and stage presence, with a few key singing parts na kaya kong i-deliver confidently. Gusto ko yung visually captivating and full of energy, yung tatatak talaga sa audience.”
Gigi: “This is a hard question because I feel like I want to do anything I can imagine. But if I had to name some of my dream productions, I’d love to dance while singing, perform with a choir and saxophones, and, of course, sing my originals with my megaphone.
“I’d love to explore different genres and do something more like a concert — sometimes big and energetic, and sometimes more intimate, like singing while sitting on a couch. I’d also love to collaborate with lots of different artists. There are just so many things I want to try!”
How has ‘Vibe+’ changed your career?
Dylan: “‘Vibe+’ has changed my career in so many ways. Aside from the singing and hosting aspect, I’ve also learned how to work and build connections with the whole production team, my fellow ‘Vibe’ jocks, and, of course, the different artists who guest on the show.
“I’ve learned how important it is to treat everyone with kindness and respect, especially our guests, and to make sure that they feel welcome whenever they come to ‘Vibe+.’ I’ve also gained much more confidence when it comes to singing and hosting, which I think is a major factor for me as an artist. ‘Vibe+’ really gave me an opportunity to grow, not just as a performer, but also as a person.”
Ryle: “It was a dream of mine to be a main host of a program, and I’m very fortunate ‘Vibe+’ chose me one year ago. I hope to stay forever young to stay on the show.”
Joao: “‘Vibe+’ has boosted my confidence when it comes to my hosting skills and performing.”
Carmela: “It changed my career in so many ways. Noong una po akong pumasok sa ‘Vibe+,’ I was introduced as one of the Gen V’s. Sobrang grateful po ako na naging part ako ng show, especially because it was actually my first time hosting. Tanda ko pa po na I would get really nervous, lalo na during gap shows.
“Ngayon po, isa na rin ako sa mga ‘Vibe’ jocks. I’m so happy to be one of the main hosts and to have the opportunity to showcase my talent. ‘Vibe+’ really helped push my career and made so many of my dreams come true. I got to watch OPM artists perform, and I even got the chance to perform with some of my favorite artists. It’s so amazing, and I couldn’t be more grateful for everything.”
Kaya very thankful ako sa ‘Vibe+’ at sa mga boss for giving me this opportunity na maging bahagi ng napakagandang show.”
It opened so many opportunities for me and helped me grow not just as a performer, but also as a person. Through this show, I’ve been able to improve my skills in hosting, singing and dancing, while also building my confidence and character.
“More than that, ‘Vibe+’ feels like home to me. It’s where I found people I consider family, my ‘kapatid’ in the industry. I’m truly thankful for this journey, and I hope our viewers continue to support ‘Vibe+’ so we can keep growing and achieving our dreams together.”
Gigi: “I wouldn’t really say that ‘Vibe+’ changed my career, but it definitely awakened something in me that I never thought I could do, which is hosting. When I tried it, I realized that I actually really enjoyed it! Now, it’s something that I look forward to every weekend.
“It gave me another side of myself to explore, and I’m really happy that I got the opportunity to discover that.”
“Vibe+” airs as part of TV5’s Weekend Trip block every Saturday at 6 p.m., with simultaneous livestreams on the TV5 YouTube Channel.
