Good Government starts with you

Sa iyang sinulat, si Anastacio C. Delmo, nagkanayon: "Wherever and whenever good citizens sleeps away their responsibilities, there are always others of numerous of evil intent, wide awake and eager to jump into the gap.”

Sa ato pa, sa higayon nga katulgan ug pasagdan sa mga maayong lungsoranon ang ilang mga  kaakohan ug responsibilidad ngadto sa katilingban, adunay mopuli kanila, kanunay nga nagmata, pagpahigayon sa dautan nilang mga tinguha ug intention, ug mga hidden ug personal nga agenda. 

Sumpay sa Google: “Effective good governance is not solely the responsibility of elected officials, but a collective effort rooted in individual civic responsibility and participation. It means that the quality of public service, transparency, and accountability depends on citizens being active participants rather than passive consumers of government actions.”

Mark the words ‘collective effort, civic responsibility, ug active participantion,” tungod kay mao kini ang atong tahas ug role isip mga ‘good citizens’ in a democratic society.

Sa ato pa, dili kay manghiyugpos lang as if walay labut sa mga affairs sa government. Dili kita mga langyawng turista, o foreign visitors sa Pilipinas, nga walay labut ug dili manghilabot sa mga affairs sa local government, kundili, mga Filipino citizens kita, lumad nga molupyo sa Pilipinas, nga angay manginlabot sa mga kahimoan sa kagamhanan. 

Dugang sa Google: “Good governance is participatory, meaning you have a role in voicing opinions and influencing decisions that affect your life. We cannot be mere consumers of good governance; we must be participants."

Balik ni Delmo: “The awesome privilege and responsibility of running free society in the local and national levels belongs to you and millions like you. If government is to serve you, as the Lord intended it should, you have to be alert to the countless ways at your disposal to strengthen it. In other word either you run the government or the government runs you.”

So, ang citizenry adunay daghang paagi o options, pagtul-id sa mga kahiwian, kon duna man, aron mapahigayon ang pagsalmot ug ang citizen’s participation and cooperation with the government in running the affairs of government.

Padayon ni Delmo, nearly 2,000 years ago, Plato warned that “the punishment of wise men who refuse to take part in the affairs government, is to live under the government of unwise men.”  That was Plato, nearly 2,000 years ago. Nipadayon ang google: “You must embody the integrity you expect from leaders. Importante  kaayo ang kaligdong ug honesty sa mga tawo nga sangonan pag-implement sa mga proyekto.

Hinuon,  kon maghisgot kita’g involvement, dili pamolitika lang, kundili, non-political action ang pag-contribute sa mga lungsoranon sa kaugmaran sa katilingban, sama sa giingon dinhi nga: “volunteering at local schools, participating in cleanup efforts, or assisting neighbors, which builds strong social cohesion. 

Bayanihan kini in action, nga matud sa google: “Bayanihan is a Filipino cultural tradition embodying communal unity, voluntary work, and cooperation to achieve a common goal without expecting anything in return. It is best translated as community spirit, teamwork, or mutual assistance.”

Keeping away politics, mao kini ang dakung matampo sa citizenry pagpaugmad sa nasud.
