‘Isa pang rape victim ni Vhong (?)’

- Tony Calvento - Pilipino Star Ngayon

AFFIDAVIT OF MR. JOSE MARIE VICERAL

I, JOSE MARIE B. VICERAL, of legal age, Filipino and with address care of ____________________, Quezon City, under oath, hereby depose and state:

1. I am a television host, presenter, endorser, actor and recording artist. I am more commonly known as, Vice Ganda.” I am a contract artist of ABS-CBN Corporation (“ABS-CBN”) and have been so since 2010. Among others, I am a host of ABS-GBN’s noontime show “It’s Showtime!” However, I have been working with ABS-CBN in different capacities since before 2OO9, although on a non-exclusive basis.

2. As an actor and recording artist, I host and perform in various concerts and public exhibitions all over the country. Among the concerts I held in 2010 are  “May Nag Txt, May Show Ako” comedy concert series, produced by Made 2 Dream Events Management, with legs in Dumaguete, Lipa City, Cagayan de Oro, Cavite and, Zamboanga.

2.1. Performers were required to be at each concert venue at least four (4) hours before the scheduled start of the event. Since each concert was set to start at 8:00 p.m., performers were required to be at the concert venue by around 4:00 p.m.

2.2. Many preparations were made right before the start of each concert, including checking-in by the performers and staff, inspections of the venue, sound system checks and run-throughs. During run-throughs, performers and other participants do a brief test run of the entire Concert program.

2.3. At least an hour before the scheduled start of each concert, performers are expected to be in their respective dressing rooms. This ensures their safety and security before the Concert. As they wait for the concert to start, performers are provided with everything they need, including food and refreshments.

2.4. A11 of the concerts were held at night and were set to commence at around 8:00 p.m., which was the starting time indicated in the concert tickets, posters and other promotional materials. However, none of the concerts actually started at 8:00 p.m. It took around an hour to hour and a half after 8:00 p.m. to fill the concert venue with spectators, and for the local organizers to secure the venue. Therefore, the Concerts would actually start between 9:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

2.5. The Concerts followed a loose sequence. They were generally free-flowing, with various song and dance numbers, monologues, dialogues with guests and members of the audience, and stand-up comedy acts. The concerts also featured performances from local artists, and various promotional activities, such as raffle promos.

2.6 . Each Concert lasted an average of around three (3) hours, and would, therefore, end anywhere between 12:00 a.m. to L2:30 a.m. of the following day.

2.7 . After the end of each Concert, celebrity performers would stay at the Concert venue for at least another hour and a half (1 %) to two (2) hours. During this time, performers take the chance to rest briefly, freshen up, and share a meal and refreshments with the producers (this is generally called a “cast party” or “after party”). Performers also interact with fans, sign autographs and have their photographs taken. They also pack up their equipment and other belongings. There was always vehicle traffic, because many audience members lingered at the concert venue even after the end of the event. Since the concerts ended between l2:00 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. of the following day, performers stayed at the concert venue up to around 1:30 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. of the following day.

3. Mr. Ferdinand H. Hipolito, more commonly known as “Vhong Navarro” (hereinafter “Vhong”) was a staple at my personally chose vhong as the main guest for each leg of the “May Nag Txt, May Show Ako” concert series. He was always among the last performers, because he was usually the most popular of my guests and his dance routines were among the most anticipated performances by the audience. This meant that Vhong did not get to perform in any of the Concerts until around 11:00 p.m. or 11:30 p.m. In the meantime, he would wait (impatiently, I understand) in his dressing room. Among others, Vhong performed a medley of dance routines, commonly called “Evolution of Dance,” for around ten (10) to fifteen (15) minutes.

4. To end each Concert, Vhong and I, together with other performers, performed the theme song of “It’s Showtime!” The Concert attendees all sang and danced in chorus every time Vhong and I performed the “It’s Showtime!” theme song.

These performances took place at around midnight. After performing the It’s Showtime!” theme song, Vhong and I, together with other performers, also thanked the audience, the producers and all who made the event possible.

5. On 24 April 20l0, I hosted and performed at the Cavite 1eg of the “May Nag Txt, Mag Show Ako” concert series. This was held at the Concert Park of the Island Cove Resort & Leisure Park (“Island Cove”) in Binakayan, Kawit, Cavite. As with other Concerts tn the series, Vhong was a main guest performer at said event.

6. The 24 April 2010 Concert was scheduled to start at around 8:00 p.m. Hence, performers, such as Vhong and I, had a call time of around 4:00 p.m. I first saw Vhong at Island Cove in the afternoon of 24 Aprrl2010.

7. The 24 April 2010 Concert started at around 9:30 pm and lasted until past midnight and into 25 April 2010.

8. Like other Concerts in the series, Vhong performed his dance routines at around 1 1:00 p.m. and, thereafter, he and I performed the final€ by singing, among others, the It’s Showtime!” theme song. This was already around past midnight and into 25 April 20l0.

9. After the concert ended, Vhong stayed at the venue until 2:00 am to interact with the fans by having his photograph taken and signing autographs.

10. I confirm that vhong was at Island. cove in Binakayan, Kawit, Cavite, and he was in my presence on several occasions, from the afternoon of 24 April 20l0 to around 1:30 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. of the following day (25 April 2010).

11. I execute this Affidavit to attest to the truth of the foregoing matters.

I SAY NOTHING FURTHER.

JOSE MARIE VICERAL
