Hina-harass ako - Bro Eddie

NAPAULAT sa ilang pahayagan at himpilan ng radyo ang umano’y desisyon ng Court of Appeals laban kay Jesus is Lord Church (JIL) leader, Bro. Eddie Villanueva tungkol sa kasong estafa. Lumabas ang balita sa panahon ng Semana Santa na tahimik lahat ang mga sangay ng pamahalaan. Isang statement ang ipinalabas ni Bro. Eddie bilang pagtatanggol sa sarili: Aniya “I have high hopes that in this present administration of “matuwid na daan,” this harassment against me rooted from the oppressive pre­vious administration will stop and I will finally get justice”.

Ang kaso ay kaugnay ng isang kontratang pinasok ni Bro. Eddie noong 2001, para ang Zoe Broadcasting Network ng JIL ay mapagbuti ang serbisyo sa luma­laking bilang ng Christian TV viewers. Aniya, ang probisyon ng kontrata ay hindi naipatupad, at kinamkam umano ni Benito Araneta ang pamamahala at kinikita ng himpilan sa loob nang mahigit isang taon. Si Araneta ay dapat sana’y katuwang sa venture ng Zoe. Siya ay pinsan ni dating First Gent. Mike Arroyo.

“Mr. Araneta continued with these oppressive actions despite legal demands for him to honor the contract,” dagdag ni Bro. Eddie. Sa inis ni Bro. Eddie sa pangyayari, pinutol niya ang kontrata noong Marso 2002 at hindi na nakipagnegosasyon pa. Pero nagpatuloy pa rin daw si Araneta sa pag-eere ng sarili niyang mga programa hanggang July 2002. Ang mga Christian programs ng Zoe ang hindi pinahintulutang mag-ere sa himpilan sa kapakanan ng mga block time programs ni Araneta kahit nung ma­tapos na ang kontrata.  

Kung ibabase sa pahayag ni Bro. Eddie, tila siya na

ang inagrabyado ay siya pa ang idinemanda ng estafa? Ayon sa legal team ni Bro. Eddie si Araneta mismo ang naunang bumali sa kontrata dahil hindi sinunod ang mga probisyon.  “I was falsely and maliciously accused of receiving goodwill money from the venture even if there had been a prior contract with another partner, VTV Corp. The truth is that the contract with VTV Corp had long been nullified even before I met Mr. Araneta. And when Zoe Broadcasting Network entered the venture with Mr. Araneta, he was duly and sufficiently informed of all the station’s history, including the terminated venture with VTV Corp. With this truth, what then could be the basis of an estafa?” tanong ni Bro. Eddie
