How America failed

READERS VIEW - The Freeman

America not only failed America, but the entire planet has gone into a state of chaos.

How did America fail?

During the last presidential election, one-third of American voters who could have voted — didn't. They stayed home. They could have voted by mail.

To get Trump re-elected, there were 77 million people in the USA who were either under-educated or gullible — or both. These people believed that Trump could somehow magically bring down the costs of everything.

Trump knew if he was re-elected as president he could escape jail. He was being investigated for starting an insurrection against the government in 2021, sexual assault allegations, and business crimes. Therefore, he said things some people wanted to hear to get votes. He made empty promises.

There were people who voted for him because they disliked LGBTQ people, Muslims, migrants, refugees, mainstream media, federal employees, etc. Some of the Filipino-Americans voted for him because he was against abortion.

In the Philippines abortion is illegal, yet there are one million abortions a year in the United States. Without being done under proper medical care, there are sometimes complications and sometimes the mother dies.

More progressive countries just allow the women to make the decision. And they have effective adoption agencies. Only 2,000 Filipino children are legally adopted annually. Compare this to 135,000 adoptions annually in the United States.

Trump played on people's fears, talking about the enemies within the country and enemies outside the country. He exaggerated things on purpose to get people upset. He continues to strive to get people upset, even though verified statistics contradict his statements.

People can see through false information if they're willing to look up the information, willing to do fact checking. Many of Trump's past supporters now know he is a fake.

With all the diplomatic experts in America, you would think America could do a better job with negotiating, and have prevented a war with Iran. Having the strongest economy in the world gives America power. America can help other economies. This can be a better policy than using bombs.

Trump picked people for his government Cabinet that were loyal to him, but not qualified.

Now, all around the world people know that America now has a corrupted and incompetent government.

We have seen the moral, intellectual, and emotional collapse of the Republican Party in America — a once respected party.

Let's take a look at some of these problems that affect the Philippines.

The energy crisis was created by one man — Trump. No one has benefited from this war, many have died.

Trump didn't want to help other countries so he cut the USAID programs. These are not only beneficial in themselves, but they create goodwill towards America.

The Philippines shares nine military bases with America. And yet the Philippines had to pay a 19% tariff, harming our businesses here. Why would the American government want to punish one of its strongest allies?

And, for no reason.

The conclusion is that Trump has no idea what he's doing, and his party, the Republicans, are afraid to stand up to him.
