Why stealing pa more goes on and on

Traditionally, Holy Week is observed to contemplate on spiritual completeness or wholeness. As this is the time when we reflect on our earthly journey, it is hoped that those involved in the grandest corruption that has caused unspeakable damage to our economy, widespread poverty, horrible hardships, deprivation of basics to millions of our kababayans… have taken stock of the lives God has given them!

This unprecedented corruption is far worse than the natural calamities that devastated our country, because damages can be redone, rehabilitated, reconstructed. But this massive massacre of the Filipinos’ hard-earned taxes has far-ranging, widespread effects for this generation and the generations to come!

It has become a Hedonic adaptation – meaning the more one steals, the more one  needs to steal more, to get an even higher feeling, albeit temporary, so stealing PA MORE goes on and on! This choking corruption has severely fractured our beloved country, damaged its reputation and put up a major barrier to trade and investments for investors.

The Filipinos hope that this sacred week had touched their hearts, their consciences tugged by the miserable plight of our people, their minds enlightened to sincerely reflect … and restitute what truly belongs to our suffering kababayans… Hear their despairing cries for justice and accountability!
