Jake begins his revenge in ‘What Lies Beneath’

CEBU, Philippines —  The revenge of Edong (Jake Cuenca) is now in full swing as he targets Alice (Janella Salvador), Mel (Sue Ramirez), Beth (Charlie Dizon), and Erica (Kaila Estrada) in “What Lies Beneath,” airing nightly at 9:30 pm on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z, TV5, iWant, and Netflix.

After 14 years, Edong finally escapes from prison to carry out his plan against the people he believes caused his suffering and wrongful imprisonment. Without fear, he sends the group a chilling video in which he murders Celestino – signaling the beginning of his ruthless revenge.

As the story of one of Netflix’s most-watched Filipino series intensifies, viewers saw Mel become Edong’s first target. The episode revealed how he secretly followed her as she fled from her abusive husband, Anton (Jameson Blake).

Meanwhile, Edong’s brother Lucas (JM De Guzman) has a plan of his own. Although he appears eager to work with Erica to track down Edong, he seems to be hiding a personal agenda – one that involves finding his brother ahead of the authorities, keeping him hidden, and smuggling him out of the country.
