LTO-7 adds more deputies

Mitchelle L. Palaubsanon - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines —  The Land Transportation Office-7 now has more deputies with the recent deputation seminar was conducted this month on 20 personnel from the Philippine Coast Guard-7 and two from the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board-7.

With this, the agency has conducted multiple deputation seminars for over 100 qualified deputized agents to be LTO's partners in the implementation of traffic laws over the last four months.

LTO-7 regional director Glen Galario said in a statement that they conducted these seminars to support their own personnel, and he is grateful for the support of these agencies

Galario added that even though he has recommended for the deputation orders of these new deputized agents, the final order will still come from LTO Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza.

“In November of this year, our partners from the Highway Patrol Group of the Philippine National Police were given approved deputation orders from ASec. Mendoza, but we have yet to issue these orders pending the issuance of their deputation IDs that will be signed by the LTO chief himself," said Galario.

A total of 20 personnel from PNP-HPG 7 were deputized by LTO.

The agency also recently conducted the deputation seminar for personnel of the Cebu City Transportation Office to support its law enforcement in the city.

Last October, 80 new applicants underwent the deputation seminar from the office of the Police Regional Office-7.

“We also conducted a refresher course for the existing 71 deputized agents of PRO-7 in the same month. This is to ensure that these agents are updated with our traffic laws, including the latest developments in their implementations," Galario added.

Currently, LTO-7 has a total of 368 deputized agents from both their office and their partner agencies. `(CEBU NEWS)
