Holidays in 9 areas declared

MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang has issued proclamations declaring local holidays in nine areas in the country.

The proclamations were signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on Tuesday by the authority of President Marcos.

Proclamation 740 declared Dec. 2 a special non-working day in Cainta, Rizal for the celebration of Sumbingtik Festival and the town’s founding anniversary on Dec. 1, which falls on a Sunday.

Proclamation 741 declared Dec. 6 a special non-working day in M’lang, Cotabato for the Kawayanan Festival.

Dec. 12 and 16 were declared holidays in San Juan and Calatagan in Batangas, respectively, for the towns’ founding anniversaries as provided under Proclamations 742 and 743.

Proclamation 744 declared Dec. 18 a holiday in Tuguegarao, Cagayan for the city’s 25th Charter anniversary.

The town of Diplahan in Zamboanga Sibugay will enjoy a holiday on Dec. 19 for the celebration of its founding anniversary, according to Proclamation 745.

Proclamation 746 declared Dec. 20 a special non-working day in Sipalay, Negros Occidental for the city’s 76th anniversary and the Pasaway Handurawan Festival.

Proclamation 747 declared Dec. 23 a holiday in Sto. Niño, South Cotabato for the town’s 44th anniversary and 25th Hinublag Festival.

Proclamation 748 declared Nov. 27 a holiday in Baggao, Cagayan for the town’s founding anniversary.
