Take a vacation
Want to live longer? Take vacations, mini or maxi. A 40-year study in Finland of mid-aged male executives with heart disease risks revealed a lower death rate for those who had vacations! Must be true for females, too.
Vacations take us away from actively thinking of work, of the endless things we must and want to do. Away from the helter-skelter hectic pace of life, gaze at the spectacular nature that abounds. Head for the beach, listen as you watch the crashing of waves against the sand. Soak in the early morning sun. Watch the rising and setting of the sun. See the world in a grain of sand, see heaven in wildflowers.
When overwhelme, stressed, take mini vacations daily. Sit, close your eyes, revisit places that meant much to you, made you relax, happy, smile. Even for short moments … letting the mind go away tones up the body, infuses fresh energy – to face life’s challenges anew with vigor and strength.
“Sit loosely on the saddle of life,” it is said; we only have one life. Stop chasing the wind, allow yourself to rest. Enjoy the journey!
Peace, good health, safety, abundance to us all!
