Proof that China does not care about any protest or action by our Navy or Coast Guard, nearly 300 Chinese maritime militia are scattered stationary in various areas within our Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) according to a maritime patrol conducted last May 9. You recall because of China repeatedly ignoring the protests filed by the DFA, Sec. Locsin lashed out in an invective-laden tweet against China. Beijing immediately rebuked him and seems to have found an ally in no less than President Duterte because Locsin immediately apologized. The Palace further stated that only Duterte can swear. And that's not all.

Presidential spokesman Harry Roque stated our EEZ does not cover Julian Felipe Reef so the whole issue was only blown out of proportion. He was immediately corrected by the National Task Force on the West Philippine Sea (NTF-WPS). Julian Felipe Reef is about 175 nautical miles away from Bataraza, Palawan, so definitely within our EEZ. Locsin also asked Roque to shut up adding the DFA and he alone can talk about foreign relations. Roque should just keep quiet altogether.

China is just wiping itself with all the protests we file. And why not if the president of the Philippines himself does not value the victory of the Philippines at the UN Permanent Court of Arbitration. According to Duterte, it was just a piece of paper that he would throw in the trash. Perhaps if this administration filed the case and won they would be singing a different tune. Duterte also called stupid all those who believed he would ride a jet ski and plant the Philippine flag on an island in the West Philippine Sea to assert our claim. He said it was just a joke during the campaign. Are you among the stupid ones?

Carlo Montehermozo, a fisherman from Infanta, Pangasinan, could not help but show his dismay saying Duterte was a joke of a president. Apparently, it was Montehermozo who asked the question during the presidential debate of 2016 on what they could do for fishermen to peacefully earn a living and not be driven away by the Chinese coast guard. He and others were just disappointed and felt deceived with the unfulfilled promise, and were even called stupid. He added people should think wisely about who can truly help the country in the next election. He had more to say but I'll leave it at that.
