The fight has just begun

One of the unfortunate realities in our country’s politics is the presence of traditional politicians (trapos). Some claim to represent and fight for the people, but when we look closely at their actions, what we can see are selfish, self-serving individuals who only care about themselves.

Take for example the leftist party-list politicians in Congress: they march to the streets shouting for democracy, throw numerous accusations against the President and his administration without solid evidence to back their claims.

Ironically, the President himself, whom they have tagged to be a dictator, allows them to freely express their opinions guised in utterly public meltdowns. However, when other people opt to voice out opinions against them, they use their position to pin these critics down.

This is exactly what they did to me. I opted to be vocal about my opinions against these leftist groups, and they retaliated by putting pressure not against me, but the government agency I worked for. 

It was supposed to be a simple hearing that was intended to focus on the budget propositions of the government agency and to ensure that the funds to be allocated for it will be spent wisely in the coming year. However, these leftist trapos used the very same venue to attack those who are vocal against them. They used my position as a government official as an excuse to keep me silent. They are duly elected government officials and yet, rather than do their job in improving the country’s legislation, they stand on the podium not to focus on laws, but malign the President.

These trapos ask for my accountability, based on the several posts in my blog, but they seem to be lenient when they and their allies are throwing malicious accusations. Did they hold themselves accountable for their actions? Has anybody called them out for using their position to get what they want?

As I have mentioned in my speech during the Senate budget hearing last week, I have been asked on several occasions not to express my opinions toward  our lawmakers whenever the budget hearing is approaching, as there is a risk of the budget approval to be put on hold. 

This is how rotten our system can get, and these acts are being perpetrated by those who say that the President is a tyrant and a dictator.

I am tired of having to face this system, and for the sake of the budget of the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO), I have decided to resign from my position.

Unsurprisingly, the PCOO budget was passed by the House of Representatives in a hearing that lasted for not more than three minutes!

Now make no mistake, for the fight is far from over. I will face these trapos who used their power and position in the attempt to bind me in their chains. I am now far from their grasp and free to expose their true colors. 

To these Trapos, read this very well: together with the voiceless Filipinos, I will continue to reveal your hypocrisies and expose the truth that you are not fighting for the masses nor even think about the wellbeing of our country, that you are merely using the public for your own selfish interests. 

My resignation is only the beginning of the real battle. I’ll make sure that your time of exploiting helpless Filipinos will finally come to an end.
