Not afraid to be ‘tambays’

THE EAR - The Freeman

DRINK ON. A group of friends who often hung out to drink in a nearby store owned by another friend are not worried about the new order to go after ‘istambays.’ The reason? All of them are retired professionals and well-known pillars in their community, two were businessmen, one is a retired engineer, and the other a retired captain.

They said many people don’t realize everybody needs to loosen up, spend time, and drink with friends every once in a while, even if it is in the humblest of places like the local sari-sari store.

“Kana ilang giingon pandakpon ang mga mag-inom binuang man na. Sige, suwayi, tan-awon nato kinsa ang mauwawan,” one of them told The EAR.
