HAVE BAT WILL STRIKE - Juanito V. Jabat   - The Freeman

TRIVIA  —  Did you know that okra is good treatment for diabetis? Yes, I read somewhere that okra is ok ra para diabetes.

A carinderia owner was heard assuring a group of Muslim customers from Mindanao that they serve "halal" food that including "pork and beans" without pork. The assurance was met with laughter. Pork and beans without pork?

***

Sounds kind of funny. But it's true. The canned pork and beans sold these days in the grocery stores and supermarkets are mostly, if not entirely, beans, no pork. My observation.

It says here that Malaysian terrorist Marwan had planned to bomb Pope Francis' convoy (TF, Feb. 10/15). The Bible says: "A man's heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps." And my mother used to say that "man proposes, God disposes." That, too, is biblical.

The newspapers say that the Malaysian bomber Zulkipli bin Hir, also known as Marwan, who was killed by the SAF commandos in Mamasapano trained 300 terrorists under the MILF protection. So what peace deal with the MILF is PNoy talking about.

Talisay City Councilor Danilo Caballero is pushing for strict observance of the flag ceremony. It has been observed that only the schools are adhering strictly to the flag raising rites every Monday morning and the flag-lowering ceremony every Friday afternoon although the flag law requires all government employees to attend the flag rites.

Councilor Caballero's call is a step in the right direction and should not fall on deaf ears. OK, it has been observed that there are some government workers that attend the flag ceremonies. But it has also been observed by some of them do not sing but discuss matters many private and personal, some even including the lotto results and the love life of other people.
