The city hospital (CCMC) has a problem -- rats. The four-legged varmin. They have been feasting on the cadavers in the hospital's temporary morgue.

I just learned that Sir Dodong Holganza has passed away. I was shocked and saddened. Dodong was a good friend since way, way back. Our friendship was so strong it extended to his sibblings and later his children. With Dodong's passing I say with sadness that one more good friend has left for good. Thank God, I'm still left with a few more good ones. Have a good rest, Dong.

There is a suggestion that the Fallen 44 SAF troopers be called valiant 44. This means the 44 troopers showed gallantry in battle before they fell. This was suggested by Luchi Cruz Valdez and lawyer Mel Sta. Maria of TV-5.

Many may not have realized it but with the killing of international terrorist Zulkifli bin Hir, better known as Marwan, by the 44 SAF commandos who lost their lives in the process, is the Philippines' valuable contribution to the world struggle against terrorism. The US, UK, and Japan, among others, have recognized this as reports in their news media show.

It says here that the US$5M bounty offered by the US for anyone responsible for the capture or death of the Malaysian international terrorist Marwan cannot be given to the families of 44 SAF troopers who killed him in battle. The US Embassy says there's a law against it. Then who gets the bounty? Many are hoping it doesn't fall into the hands of some bright operators.

OVERHEARD. Some high society personalities attending a social gathering in an uptown hotel were overheard talking about the US$5M reward for the killer of Marwan, the Malaysian terrorist. Commenting on reports that the reward could not be given to the heirs of the 44 SAF commandos who killed the terrorist and were also killed in the process, a businessman, apparently angered by the news, said: "May pagkadawo sad diay ning mga tawo ni Obama, noh?"
