It says here that Pope Francis may address the UN General Assembly. It's too much to even wish he'd spend a few minutes addressing our Congress but wishful thinking won't harm so let that be my wish.

VP Jojo Binay's spokesman said the worst for Binay is over." That is as far as attacks against the VP is concerned. It was kind of a masterstroke by Jojo: To let the attackers do their worst and see whose BP hits highest.

After robbers wearing hats and crash helmets succeeded in pulling a robbery in a shopping mall, authorities immediately came up with a ban on headgear by shoppers. Don't call it crazy because it's not.

Last year, the Ifugao government banned the wearing of crash helmets by motorcycle riders. Media in that area called it crazy. Not anymore. Crimes committed by helmeted motorcyclists riding in tandem have been checked. Hundred percent. In Ifugao, anyone riding on a motorycle with a helmet on is apprehended and charged with violation of an ordinance.

Before I run out of space, I would like to thank The Paulines (Daughters of St. Paul) for the Sunday healing Masses they have been sponsoring on ABS-CBN. These Masses go a long way in filling, nay, answering the spiritual needs of people who are physically unable to go to church to fulfill their obligation to God.

The Paulines' decision to let Rev. Fr. Daddy Silva say the Sunday Masses is wise and most welcome. He is a good speaker and his homilies are what, to me, homilies should be. They hit you smack in the heart and the soul.

OVERHEARD: Some Cebu officials are still hoping Pope Francis will make a stopover in Cebu. Let's all join the officials in making the same hope. It's free. The cost will come only if or when the hope comes to pass.
