Don't worry, we're happy
A SWS survey says 86% of adult Pinoys are happy with life. They believe in what a popular comics character often says: "Be happy, go lucky." And in a fastfood chain's slogan: "Don't worry be happy."

My friend Rev. Fr. Romeo Serra said one survey, not by the SWS, says: "Fifty percent of the people you work with cannot be trusted." Maybe this is one of the reasons why this American proverb has gained popularity worldwide: "In God we trust, all others cash."
***
But listen to this Greek proverb, some kind of a reply to the American proverb: "Who mistrusts most should be trusted least."
***
When we talk about "trust" and "mistrust" I always recall what I once read on the wall of a Chinese sari-sari store in España, Manila. It said: "Kaibigan, you ask for credit I no give, you mad; you ask for credit, I give but you don't pay I get mad. Better you get mad."

What happened to the much ballyhooed BRT project of Tom O? Many have been asking. Many are waiting. The wise guys say the BRT got derailed along the way. Nadeskaril even before it could start running.

What’s really happened to the BRT? I got this reply from the column of Boo Chanco in the PhilSTAR of feb. 26/14. “Cebu City is actually the most advanced in the study of the (BRT) concept. But they were stopped by the DOTC... of course, the Cebuanos are frustrated and pretty mad.â€

Guess why did the DOTC stop the Cebu BRT project? “Hehehe,†said a friend of mine. “Because it was not they who thought of it first.â€

Did you know that there are Catholic churches in the Phl including Cebu where the "santoses" (images of saints) are fenced off with iron grills? A news correspondent from Sydney, Australia was seen shaking his head after taking pictures of the images behind bars.
***
"Why are they behind bars?" the newsman asked. "They've done something wrong or something? I said: "They're fenced off to protect them from those who might do something wrong to them."
