The fellowship of the "smuggling ring"

FELLOWSHIP. A local businesswoman who is also known to have dealings with the Bureau of Customs recently arranged a media fellowship with the new district collector.  She was apparently trying to impress the customs official that she controls the Cebu media.

TAX. Did she have another motive for holding the "fellowship?" An informer told The Ear the same businesswoman smuggled in several "big bikes" a few days before the fellowship and paid only a minimal amount of tax.
