Now they blame Anderson Cooper?

Sheesh.

Before, it was Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo  - plunging ratings, lightning, thunder,  hail, name  it, it's Gloria's fault. GMA is the default "it's her fault" excuse. Something goes wrong with government, I can bet my sorry as B.S. Aquino will point to his predecessor, the former head of state and national punching bag, as the culprit to his own failings (this, while taking credit for economic gains that are fruits of her stern and unpopular fiscal policies and reforms made even before the global economic meltdown in '07-'08).

When an issue hounds him, he brings up GMA, or his love life, whichever is convenient. And when the PDAF-Napoles scandal was promising to bring upon his omnipotent impotence a firestorm of controversy, one that leads to his very doorstep, he brought up both. To no avail, of course.

Suffice it to say, he and his cohorts have exploited GMA's unpopularity to the hilt so that when Yolanda struck and his and his cabinet's collective ineptitude became increasingly undeniable, they had no other choice but to blame someone else. In this particular instance, to blame Gloria yet again, Gloria inside her hospital room under hospital arrest, would be too farfetched an idea to shove down our throats. They've been insulting our intelligence the past three years, but Gloria as an excuse this time around would've been too much insult leveled on an already gravely injured nation.  

Enter silver fox, CNN's golden boy, Anderson Cooper. Esteemed journalist Cooper did what he had to do - I hope the same can be said of B.S. Aquino, et. al. - and covered the aftermath of Yolanda, showing the world a fair coverage of the cataclysmic effects of the monster storm on Tacloban and its people.

But B.S. and his coterie of zombies, trolls who would attack on command, would not have it. Some of them are high profile (media superstars like Korina Sanchez- Roxas), some are anonymous (hiding behind the safety of online pseudonyms), and some are political has-beens allied with his mother (basking in the light of the faded glory). The rest are real, hyperemotional people who respond more to emotional stimuli and symbolisms ("daang matuwid" bullcrap, death of Cory, Yellow freakin' ribbon, etc.) than to physical proof or empirical data and sound reasoning.

Anderson reported what he saw for himself, and because the fact is government presence during the first few days can be summed up as "little to none," his report easily became a constructive critique of Aquino's response. Never mind that it was not at all scathing, very fair and not at all politically-motivated. (In case they are too desperate and resort to dismissing him as a paid hack, like any journalist in our country who doesn't praise B.S., I have one word: Vanderbilt.) Nevertheless, his report unwittingly focused the spotlight on the blatant lie that characterizes this government, exposing its glaring flaws for the world at large to scrutinize. And so, for the Yellows, Anderson and his coverage are completely unacceptable.

Although the support for Anderson Cooper and CNN is overwhelming, you can be assured of two or three people in your Facebook network who would defend their idol B.S. come hell or high water (pun intended).

So it's Anderson's, the Taclobanons', and the Romualdezes' fault, everyone but Noynoy "B.S." Aquino's. Amazing. No sense of accountability or command responsibility whatsoever, just pure, unadulterated self-righteousness. Even those with the richest vocabulary wouldn't have the words to describe the blind faith and adulation the Yellow zombies have for B.S. If Lucifer himself came to Aquino's defense, I can totally picture the Yellows smothering him with a group hug, the fight versus good and evil be damned.

Like the Showbiz Government it is, when rehashed plotlines have begun to saturate people's interests, when scripts become all too predictable, when the harsh reality of an enraged Mother Earth has overruled camera tricks and movie magic, as in showbiz parlance, it's high time for the director to shout these four definitive words: "pack up ang show!"

Here's a timely and telling anecdote on national leadership and natural disasters concerning someone I did not vote for in 2010.

Lord knows how plotting survey results, pursuing a more scientific and empirical approach in choosing my eventual candidate for president (one I campaigned for and closely with) - I was avoiding a return of the convicted plunderer at all costs, and I did get what I wanted at the time, the ex-con lost - turned out to be an even more costly miscalculation, a monumental faux pas, one so fucked up it haunts me each and every day, especially now, throughout this crisis. I should've followed my gut; alas, my biggest and only major regret in life.

It was posted as a status by a friend, and I am reposting it here in toto:

Those who accuse others of negativity simply because they love this country and its people so much to the point of anger, are not being positive either.

Or maybe they are positive. Positively blind, positively biased (a recipient of Aquino's power to appoint), or positively stupid.

Now I don't mean stupid to be derogatory. It's a common fact that some IQs are below the average.
