What you choose is what you get
The rally against pork barrel gathered an overwhelming support from the people. This only proved that people are angry, frustrated and cannot tolerate such scandal. By marching out to the streets, which is a practice of their constitutional rights, the people can extend their sentiment to the present government regarding this matter. After all no one is above the law and these politicians should be behind bars but even then, the money they have stolen would not be brought back.
Indeed we have voted for the wrong politicians who promised us that we would never regret voting them. The pork barrel scandal has been so alarming, not a day goes by without me not hearing it and, yes, the promises our politicians alleged, were never realized. Our politicians first appeared as a redeemer, gaining our trust, and in the end, deceived us. We are victims of deception, theft and lies. Let us learn from this experience, to be wise voters. John F. Kennedy once said "The ignorance of one voter impairs the security of all".
But let us not forget that not only the government is a factor in our country's progress, there is still us. Kennedy also said that we should not ask what our country can do for us but what we can do for our country. Our government may have defrauded us but it was us in the first place that made them politicians. It was always us who had that power.
