Noynoy the genius

Many people think Noynoy Aquino is a nut or something. I do not believe so. On the contrary, I believe Noynoy is a genius. He has become more than Ferdinand Marcos ever was and yet avoided the stigma of having to declare martial law.

Noynoy has become a dictator by simply doing what he wants to do and never mind what the people say afterward. After all, he has long calculated the consequences before he has done anything to trigger them. His incomparable intellect has allowed him to understand the Filipino psyche very well.

Take the case of Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. Noynoy understood perfectly well that those who hated Arroyo couldn't care less if she was dragged away without even enjoying her day in court. He also knew that those who saw Arroyo in a different light were too chicken shit to lift a finger in defense of her rights.

And so, despite the absence of any charges filed against her, Noynoy had Arroyo detained and prevented from leaving, in violation of her basic constitutional rights. To remedy the legal infirmity, Noynoy found a judge willing to issue an arrest warrant at a moment's notice. It takes genius to file away Arroyo that way.

Where did Arroyo go wrong? She miscalculated Noynoy by playing everything by the book. She thought that whatever she did, so long as she does not get herself directly implicated, she is off the hook. She did not realize that the son of democracy's icons does not play by the rules.

Then came Renato Corona. Noynoy gathered his attack dogs who promptly bulldozed charges against the chief justice and produced flimsy evidence in the dead of night from sources known only by their shapes and sizes. Conviction was secured by pork barrel bribes. By another stroke of genius, Corona got filed away.

Corona made the same mistake Arroyo did. Having built a career on the law, he thought he could put up a good legal fight. But like Arroyo before him, Corona did not realize that Noynoy had the genius to realize that the law in this country is only as good as there is nobody willing to smash it to bits with a sledgehammer.

If Marcos could do it despite the unpopularity of martial law and dictatorship, why the hell couldn't he do the same minus the negative connotations of a formal declaration of evil? If he can just go right ahead and kick ass, people will be too dumbfounded to react. He can always sugarcoat their stupor later.

Now Noynoy is moving on to the next targets -- Juan Ponce Enrile, Jinggoy Estrada and Bong Revilla -- who were singled out from the pork barrel all-star cast as not being "ours" and therefore "theirs" and thus must be deprived of the influence they potentially wield going into the 2016 polls.

And so, even before they can even be formally investigated, much less charged, Noynoy now wants their passports cancelled so they cannot leave the country. Even if the three never had any intention of fleeing, by merely suggesting that they might tilts the fight against their favor. That's half the battle won. Bright!

Even all the pretty girls lined up every now and then as Noynoy's supposed love interests have been masterfully thought out to masquerade the fact that he is not a marrying man. By assuming the role of macho playboy, He also doesn't have to worry about his penchant for picking a fight with a woman on a wheelchair.

Marcos became reviled for allegedly stealing from the country's coffers. There is no way Noynoy can become similarly hated. Noynoy knows he doesn't have to steal if he can save and realign. Different method, same result.

Marcos did things mostly by himself and thus centralized the hatred on his person. Noynoy determined that if he does things by proxy, he will still get to crucify his enemies but deflect the horror at his means toward those who actually carried out his wishes.

But why do they carry out his wishes? Noynoy's genius has taken care of that as well. Noynoy is a product of hypocrisy. He concluded that people will always strive to be identified with what is right, moral and clean, never mind if they have to do wrong, get illegal, and go lowdown dirty to do it.

That is why the "Daang Matuwid" carriage is very overloaded. There are simply too many saints in the Philippines. Noynoy the genius couldn't help laughing at his master stroke. Even while distributing aid during calamities, Noynoy can't help grinning.
