Rumble on the court

HAVE BAT WILL STRIKE - Juanito V. Jabat   - The Freeman

There's thunder ("dugdug") rocking the skies as I write this. An Indian chief said a thunder is nothing if there is no rain.

There's another scam in the news. This time it's about "bawang" or "ahos" (garlic) involving  millions  of  pesos. Here is a scam that cannot be hidden because it stinks.

Some people are saying that Janet Napoles is being tried by publicity. That's less hurting than being fried.

I have observed  that  PNoy likes  to talk  and  talk about the mistakes of his subordinates. Well, no problem. The Spanish proverb says: "He who talks and talks much is sometimes right."

It has been suggested by some netizens that typhoons be named after corrupt politicians. Since the corrupt politicos outnumber the typhoons that come each year, the super corrupt must get top priority.

LTO chief Virginia Torres says it was not a gambling casino where the video showing her in front of a slot machine was taken. It was a Torres spot?

My good friend Daido Angel, who used to be a GAB official for boxing, saw the rumble on the court between the San Mig and Globalport players. He called it a comedy.

* * *

Daido said the way the players acted proved they're good only in dribbling and shooting but not in fist fighting. "Ang ilang sinumbagan binabaye," he said. "Wa hinooy linarutay og buhok."

Another witness to the hardcourt rumble said: "OK ra para nako ang rumble sa mga player kon ang duwa makaduka kay mabuhi ang kaalegre." Unfortunately for this fan, that's not the way PBA Commissioner ChitoSalud sees it.

September 8 was Grandparents Day. There was a show, according to this newspaper ad. It wasn't clear in the ad if the performers in the show were lolas and lolos entertaining the apos.

* * *

That reminds me of my good friend Ben Ypil who does his "apostolic" mission in the US every year. I haven't heard from Ben for ages. I guess he's on his mission.

OVERHEARD. Some employees of a private corporation were heard talking about what they must do to increase their income. One of them said: "Mas maayo tingali nga mo-organize ta og NGO." Replied another employee: "Dili na na mosalir, Bay, oy. Wa nay senador o kaha kongresista nga mopuhunan sa atong gihisgutang NGO, labina nga wad-on na ang PDAF."
