“Powerful forces” at the Customs

WHISTLEBLOWER. A retired top military official said to an Ear informer: “I understand why those key officials in the Customs who have resigned could not blow the whistle on the so-called 'powerful forces' in the agency that are making the work of these officials difficult.” He said they (those who resigned) still want to live.

UNAFRAID. Some observers are urging PNoy to replace those who have resigned with men unafraid to go after the “powerful forces” in the Customs. But one wife was heard telling our Ear informer: “Bisan pa og usa ka milyon ang suweldo dili ko patrabahoon akong bana diha sa Customs.” She added: “Better a living coward than a dead hero.”
