Snacks vs. cellphone load

THE EAR - The Freeman

“BAON” OR “BAWON”.  Just for fun, a freshman high school teacher asked her students to write down in two or three words how they spend their baon or bawon. “The result was real fun,” said the teacher. “Nagtabla-tabla ang tubag nga snacks ug load.” Of course, you know what they meant by load, unless you don't have a cellular phone.

MALNOURISHED?  The teacher said somewhat in jest: “Hibawo na ko nganong moingon sila nga daghan sa atong mga tinun-an malnourished...di ba ma-malnourished nga imbes ipalit snacks ang bawon, ipalit man og load.”
